  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Lamar McDow is accused of arranging a street race on Saturday was arrested on Tuesday for violating the terms of his pre-trial release on earlier charges, WECT-TV reported. His fiancée, Marie Holmes, is believed to have footed the £8million bill for his release. She paid £2million in March just weeks after scooping the £120million jackpot. She then paid £4million in August to free her beau from prison in North Carolina after he was arrested on suspicion of trafficking and intending to sell heroin.

While he was behind bars, Holmes won a Powerball jackpot, taking home £56million after tax after choosing the lump sum payment.

The single mum-of-four said she would use the money to finish college and set up tuition funds for children, one of whom has cerebral palsy.


Marie sure has golden fingers in making the money, but her fiancee sure has a way of giving the money to the courts via jail sentences and bail-outs!
