Does this happen in any other country, where "free foodstuff" is given to the masses in return for votes? The politicians I know are free to do anything, but would they keep their promises when elected to office or would they renege on their promises?  Would these politicians give out freebies such as foodstuff to the wealthy sector of the country or they are just engaging in a game of dirty P-o-l-i-t-r-i-c-k-s. Nigerians call this "Stomach infrastructure ". But for how long??? If only they could extend this to other  infrastructures such as stable electricity, good hospitals, schools, and proper education.

Nigerians have been advised to unite and ensure a violence-free general elections in February. The advice was given at the launch of a project on mitigation of violence in elections organised by the International Foundation for Electoral Systems. 

As an ex-military leader in Nigeria, General Buhari had fallen out of favour with some prominent yoruba leaders which was well documented. I saw this and thought, how will he win the yoruba community over, having Professor Yemi Osibajo as his vice president is not going to cut it at all. He will have to do more to convince the community that he is not a threat but a president with good intentions.

Andrea Johanna Torres, alias Yayita, 28, who is said to have committed some 300 thefts by using her physical attributes to distract security guards at homes in Bogota, the Colombian police have reported. Fox 5 reports that, An elderly Michigan man has been united with his son for the first time, thanks to the recent discovery of a long-lost letter. At 81 years old, Tony Trapani of Grand Rapids says he feels like a new dad. His 61-year-old son, Samuel Childress, is in his arms for the first time. Childress' mother sent Trapani a letter in 1959, saying her then 5-year-old son was his child. But Trapani never received it. He says his wife intercepted the letter and hid it in a filing cabinet all these years. Trapani came across the letter after his wife passed away. Childress said his mother told him that she had sent the letter and he assumed his father chose to ignore him.
