  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

R.I.P: Debbie Reynolds Joins Daughter Carrie Fisher In Death

The photo above depicts a love-bond between mother and daughter. It is that of actress Debbie Reynolds on the left, and Carrie Fisher at the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award in 2015. Carrie Fisher (60) is famous for her acting roles in "Star Wars' Princess Leia", "Sex and the city", and "When Harry met Sally", passed away on December 27 after a suspected heart attack.

I read in the dailies that her mum, Debbie alongside her brother Todd were planning her funeral only to get online, to find out that Debbie (84) too had passed away after suffering from stroke. Two deaths in a week!

Now, it is left for Todd to handle the funeral services of his mum and sister just days into the new year, 2017. God give him the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
