  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Bride Writes Exam In Wedding Gown, To Avoid A "Carry Over"

This is not a clip from Nollywood movie, a student from Kaduna Polytechnic, Higher National Diploma 1, shocked her fellow students when she arrived in the examination hall with her bridal gown on, just after saying her wedding vows.
Pulse reports that the unnamed lady was said to have been accompanied by her groom, the bestman and the maid of honour to write her HND 1 examination which was taking place on her wedding day. The bridal party patiently waited for the bride to finish writing her exams, after which they proceeded to the wedding reception.

 Determination or what ever you might call it, she definitely did not want her wedding ceremony to be marred with a carry-over (a term used by students meaning to repeat the whole year, for failing or being absent on a course). I know in Nigerian higher institutions "Carry over no be joke", I celebrate her for being brave.
