  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

What Are You Giving Up? Lent Is Here

what are you giving up this lent?

Lent is here upon us, no, I am not referring to the past participle of lend!!! The real aim of Lent is, above all else, to prepare Christians for the celebration of the death and Resurrection of Christ. it is different from any other festive season because, it is coupled with 40 days fasting and praying whilst remaining humble.... If that is true.


Some people decide to give up something for such period of time. Suggestions include:
giving up on partaking in football and other sporting activities,  eating cupcakes, twitter, staying away from television and other social media outlets, and ideas like click here. As for me, I will give up on eating too much bread and chicken... Don't laugh.

 What will you be giving up this lent? Share your ideas and can't promise that BVs wouldn't laugh out too loud!!!

 Is putting on make up allowed? Just asking.
