  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Gospel Singer Israel Houghton Placed On Indefinite Leave By His Church Over Scandalous Affair
The divorce drama around the life of Israel Houghton is getting messier by the minute, now Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church has placed Grammy Award-winning gospel singer Israel Houghton on indefinite leave, after he announced his divorce to his wife of twenty years and new relationship with another woman just months after...

RadarOnline reports that, Houghton, 44, worked as a minister at Lakewood Church as far back as 2011. But recently, Radar reported, he was mysteriously wiped from the website. A rep for the church confirmed to Radar that he is no longer part of the fold after announcing his divorce amid cheating rumors in February.

A rep for Lakewood told Radar exclusively, “Lakewood Church released Israel Houghton from his responsibilities as a worship leader [in February] and placed him on indefinite leave. Since that time, he has not been featured in any Lakewood Church related activities.”

The rep continued, “Lakewood Church is not at liberty to discuss publicly any details regarding Israel’s personal situation, but stands ready to provide Israel with spiritual counseling and guidance should he choose to seek it.”

As Radar reported, Houghton was spotted on a steamy Mexican getaway with Bailon at the Dreams resort in Tulum over the weekend. He was still wearing a wedding band, although he announced in February he and his wife Meleasa were splitting after 20 years. He admitted at the time that he had “failed and sinned” against his wife.

A defiant Houghton insisted yesterday, however, that Bailon, 32, was not the other woman responsible for the breakdown of his marriage.
