To all the young and old men out there, is this true or you just can't be bothered?! Cleanliness is next to ......, I read in the evening standard about men and the hygiene habits when it comes to changing their undies. In the days of the metrosexual man, which man would wear the same pants for seven days? that is pure grime at its worst. I know there are women who have hygiene habits that is worth getting a fine for?
A study into the state of London’s underwear habits by menswear retailer Jacamo reveals that the average pant collection is over four years old. It also revealed that 10 per cent of men admitted wearing the same pants up to seven times without a wash, and nearly half continue to wear underwear with holes in or have lost the elastic waistband...
80 per cent of the capital’s men were found to wash their underwear after every use with one-in-three Londoners admitting they will change to fresh pairs if they are going on a date.
The research showed that the average man owns 13 pairs and buys new pants once every six months, spending an average of £21.08 a year. Londoners come second on the table of shame in owning the average oldest pair in their collection to Yorkshire and the Humber.
“Our study has uncovered a distinct sniff of laziness when it comes to men in London and their underwear habits. Uncovering the dirty secrets of the capital’s drawers may have revealed some less-than-ideal underwear habits but in revealing the fact that smelly pants is one of women’s top turnoffs, we’re hoping it’ll encourage men to think again when they pick up the same pair of boxers for another use next time.” - Jenni Bamford from Jacamo
Jacamo in Oxford Street is offering a free pair of underwear with every purchase on Thursday (April 21) when customers say “brief me” at the checkout.
