  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

What is fashion exactly and who defines the terms at which fashion can be seriously deemed as classy, quirk or something as one's flighty imagination? After much protests, we have seen women of all shapes and sizes take on the catwalk to strut. Now it is the men who are taking the catwalk by storm, and I am not referring to the hot bodied man with chiseled looks, China for one has proved that it can get a fit 80 year old man to strut his style on their catwalks.

Meet Dashun Wang, who made his debut last year on the catwalk aged 79, and at 80, he says, he still has some potential in him, his message is never give up when all around you seem to have given up.


In a media frenzied world, where only the young are celebrated, and the old are only remembered for the past and not their present. It takes grace and courage to stand tall.
