  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Smart Move??? Bride Outdo Church's Strict Rules On Wedding Day

Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), have their set of rules and regulations brides have to adhere to when getting married, natural hair, no makeup, the bride should look practically plain. This caused an outrage last week, when when a bride failed to comply with such rules, she had her hair extension cut off and her make up wiped out on her wedding day! OUCH.

The bride was blamed for not been obedient, if she professed to be a member of the church, why did she not go to a place of worship that would tolerate her sense of style for her big day, if she knew MFM did not suit her wedding style?  I am sure brides attending the church would have taken notes and learn from the lesson.

Well a new bride had her wedding in the church and celebrated the day without causing a fuss, she had separate wedding dress for the wedding and the reception. Smart move or pretentious bride?!. The church rules did not extend to the reception venue.
