In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Muslim March In London Against Terrorism, But Was The Media Interested?

London Muslim March
Muslims in their thousands took to the streets of London to march in protest against being used as a front to promote terrorism and promote peace and unity but it was not reported in the media.

The UK Arbaeen Procession is organised every year by the Husaini Islamic Trust UK and according to their website is the ‘largest annually organised Islamic event in Europe’. The Trust aims to promote the teachings of Imam Husain – a seventh century Muslim freedom fighter who stood up for justice against dictators who were denying citizens their human rights.
Muslims promote peace and not war

The march took place in the wake of terrorism carried out by a lone attacker  on Sunday at Leytonstone Station where people where stabbed by a mentally unstable man, saying he did for Syria reprisals - read here. Mohammed Al-Sharifi, a part-time activist said,
'We can still apply the same principles today when we are terrorised by the likes of ISIS. The message applies now more than ever to current issues. We are trying to undo people’s misconceptions about Islam – this a multi-faith event and we are trying to promote universal human values.'
'It’s never covered because it’s not juicy,” said Mohammed. “If a Muslim does something juicy it goes viral, it’s front page news. The mainstream media is reluctant to give a platform to moderate Muslims. I’ve never met anyone who is pro-ISIS, 99 per cent of Muslims just want to lead peaceful lives, you know, have a coffee with friends. This is the message we want to get out there.'
With the increase of lone attackers and events unfolding worldwide recently, the police should be guarded and extra vigilant over their security measures, this is not a time for cutbacks Mr David Cameron.
