  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Married To A Snitch

A bogus groom who agreed to pay a stranger to marry him to secure a UK visa has been caught out after his sham bride revealed a secret of her own. The groom, an Indian man called Ali, offered to pay Harriet Morter £5,000 via a sham-marriage fixer – and an additional £10,000 if she would have a baby with him.


He even paid for a Rolls-Royce to the registry office and went wedding dress shopping with her to make the union more believable. But unfortunately for him, Miss Morter was an undercover journalist with a hidden camera stuffer in her bouquet.



Miss Morter met her ‘fiance’ via a fixer named only as ‘Elizabeth’ who advertised her services on Gumtree. Incredibly, when the pair were interviewed by a registrar to ensure their love for one another was real, Ali forgot Miss Morter’s address but the couple were still allowed to set a wedding date.
