In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Get Naked Or Fail, Professor Causes Controversy Over Exams

Ricardo Dominguez of University of California, San Diego stunned an outraged parent when her daughter informed her she had to be naked to pass his art class.

“I’m not sending her to school for this. How terrible, this sucks, this is just wrong,” the student’s mother told KGTV. “And to blanketly say you must be naked in order to pass my class. It makes me sick to my stomach.”
Professor Ricardo Dominguez admitted to pass his final, his nearly 20 students must get naked. Dominguez said he gets naked too in what he called a performance of self. The whole thing takes places in a dark room, lit only by a candle.
“It is all uh, very controlled. If they are uncomfortable with this gesture they should not take the class. It’s a standard canvas for performance art and body art.”  Dominguez said.
The student’s mom said she was caught off guard by the class requirement.
“Nothing was ever stipulated prior to Thursday,” the woman, who asked not to be identified, said. “There is a perversion going on here. Shame on him and shame on the university ”
The Chair of the University of California San Diego’s Visual Arts Department refuted the professor’s claim that nudity was a requirement. He said students could perform the so-called “nude gesture” without having to remove their clothes. He also said the class was not a requirement for graduation.
