In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Kim after Saint's birth
Have heard about women who drink placenta smoothie, now we have Kim jumping on the bandwagon. Just a week after giving birth to her second child named Saint West, Kim has worked out her own way of raising her iron levels - this time she has encapsulated her placenta into pills to boost her energy levels.

Kim's Placenta

“I’m having it freeze-dried and made into a pill form — not actually fry it like a steak and eat it (which some people do, BTW),” - Kim Kardashian-West
Here are some facts about Placenta Encapsulation:
  • Placenta Capsules are made from your placenta with no added ingredients
  • The placenta is steamed with lemon, ginger and green chilli according to TCM recipes
  • The placenta is dehydrated using a food dehydrator or oven for 8-10 hours until crisp
  • The dried placenta is ground into a powder and put into empty vegetable capsules
Placenta capsules have been reported by mothers to:
  • reduce post-birth bleeding
  • encourage a quick and healthy milk supply
  • balance hormones (peaks and drops)
  • improve the appearance of the skin/hair/nails
  • reduce stress levels
  • prevent the baby blues and post-partum depression
  • energy to cope with a busy day after little sleep
What is the weirdest thing you have tried and know it works for your health. Let's talk.
