  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

President Buhari Arrives In New York For 70th United Nations General Assembly

President Muhammadu Buhari arrived New York yesterday night in time for the 70th assembly of the United Nations. He arrived at the JFK international airport in New York aboard the presidential jet.


The president's 22-man entourage includes:  former governors Rotimi Amaechi and Kayode Fayemi, senator from Katsina, Hadi Sirika and a former member of the House of Representatives, Abike Dabiri, are also in the delegation.

Others on the board to New York comprise General Monguno (Rtd), the National Security Adviser; Femi Adesina, the presidential special adviser; Sarkin Abba Kalu, special adviser household matters; Lawal Kazuare (State Chief of Protocol), Nura Rimi, presidential liaison officer; Lt. Col M. L Abubakar (Aide de Camp); Bashir Abubakar, Chief Security Officer; Sabi’u Yusuf (personal assistant); ACP Abdukarim Dauda, Dr. Suhayb Sanusi Rafindadi, Chief Personal Physician; and Ya’u Abdulahi, Chief Detail.

He was welcomed by the Nigerian Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Prof Joy Ogwu, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Paul Bulus Lolo and National Security Adviser Rtd Major Gen. Monguno Babagana.
