  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Toronto Mugging Gone Wrong, Thief Beaten Up By "Victim"

A brazen beating and mugging in broad daylight. Police are hunting for suspects after a Toronto businessman was attacked on his way to work. 

Barberian, owner of Barberian’s Steakhouse, says he was walking towards his store with a register tray full of cash when a man tried to mug him. The restaurateur had to fend off the attacker by pushing him before swinging him round in the open streets which was captured on security camera.
“I went at it hockey-fight style: Keeping him away and putting him to the ground,” Mr. Barberian, 50 said...
 “I’m a city builder and want to make sure this neighbourhood is strong and vibrant and we don’ need people like this,” he said 
He added that he had no official training as a fighter, but “I’ve never lost a fight.”
Brown, 44, was arrested around 1a.m. on Wednesday and charged with robbery. He is scheduled to appear in court later in the day.
Police were still trying to identify a woman seen in the video taking a cell phone that fell onto the road during the scuffle.
