In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Should Obasanjo Be Prosecuted Over Fela's Kalakuta Republic Atrocities?

Obasanjo and Fela Feud 1977
According to Senator Iroegbu of This day newspaper, A close confidant and aide to the late Afrobeat icon, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, Mr. Uwa Erhabor, has called on well meaning Nigerians, the international community and particularly the International Criminal Court (ICC) to prosecute former President Olusegun Obasanjo for allegedly committing murder and crimes against humanity.

"Let me first of all emphasis here that I believe that Obasanjo has been getting away with murder and it is time we all join hands to nail his political coffin. If you read the last paragraph of this book, you will find that on the day Fela took the coffin of his mother to Dodan Barracks, Obasanjo ordered the soldier to kill him. "Also, according to an interview I watched on Sahara Reporters, two gentlemen who had previously worked with Obasanjo, Atiku and their friend Fasawe, revealed how Obasanjo was allegedly involved in the killing of Bola Ige.
"I personally think that Obasanjo is the biggest hypocrite on the planet earth. He is busy gallivanting around like a bull possessed with mad-cow disease in China shop, because President Goodluck Jonathan like his predecessor, the late Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, refused to hand over his government to his dictates," he said.
"His former friend, Gen. TY Danjuma, once said: 'If you do an audit of the NNPC, you will find that Obasanjo truly deserves another term, but in Gashua or Maiduguri prisons'.
You all remember the fall guy he used in the Halliburton bribery and corruption scandal," he said.
Therefore, I have decided, he noted, in conjunction with my friends both home and abroad, to open a register of Nigerian signatures to be forwarded to the ICC in The Hague to open up investigations of criminal case of genocide against Obasanjo for the massacres in Odi and Zaki-Biam.
"As soon as we get one million signatures, we will go there with a bus load of Nigerians and Europeans to compel the ICC to do justice to the thousands of innocent souls that were massacred," he assured.
Erhabor made this passionate call on Thursday in Abuja during a press conference organised to introduce his new book that detailed his times with Fela titled: "Kalakuta Diaries." He said the former president is a hypocrite who has gotten away with murder for too long including Odi and Zaki Biam massacre, and an order to the military to kill Fela in Dodan Barracks, Ikeja.

Speaking on the book, he said 'Kalakuta Diaries' is meant to not only place the late Fela and Kalakuta Republic story in its proper perspective, but also to serve as a reminder of where we are coming from as a nation.
What do you think about the claims made against Obansanjo - Will it be enforced or thiis is just another book launch promotion?
