  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Where Do You Find Solace?

There is a regular visitor in the library - a cat - it started frequenting the place from the beginning of this year 2015. It feels content to be there and the kids love playing with it.
The question flashed in my mind "solace", where do find yours", a reflection of my childhood in Lagos was marred by the domestic chaos of a dysfunctional home. Don't get me wrong, home was a  place to live but uncomfortable to be in. School was a bit confusing and home was a bit disturbing. I find solace in been around music, attending church (that was before the american Pentecostal church swarmed Lagos).

If you look back now and then, where do you find solace.. A place that fills your heart with peace.

The armed force are known for not joking around when it comes to spotting impostors wearing their outfits, whereas in some quarters, this could also be worn as a fashion statement! A man in Nigeria was caught and confronted by army officers for wearing a camouflage vest. He was later apprehended; but the impostor's response was not forthcoming but highly hilarious.
