  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Mama Gogo Waxing Strong At 119

With long live I will bless you says God Almighty. Where is Guinness book of records when you need them? They seem to have missed out on Malekhetho Pule, who is still going strong at 119. She celebrated with her  57 grandkids and 71 great-grandchildren this new milestone in her life.  An event took place at the Methodist Church of SA at Mashimong section in Tembisa.


Her grandson Simon said “We are so blessed to have someone like her in our lives.
“My gogo is one of a kind. People say she is quiet, but I know she talks a lot and she is fun to be with.Gogo is still lively. She can still feed herself, she likes simple things in life, loves having her pap with fresh milk. She’s been eating that for years. Her favourite fruit is banana. When you give her that you’ll be on her good side. Gogo used to go to church when she was still strong. I think her faith in God has brought her so far.”
Simon said gogo was the only surviving member of her siblings. She has four children – Ramodiane Pule (85), Maria Nthene (78), Marriam Mphafudi (69) and Bagolo Vinger (66). Reverend Luxolo Mantini said his church was blessed to have such a legend among them.
