  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

VP Osinbajo, Kofi Annan & Others At Energy Africa UK Campaign

Africa Energy in London Launch
The  Energy Africa campaign is taking place today in London which is well attended by  the Vice president Osinbajo of Nigeria, Kaduna State governor, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, former UN secretary general Kofi Annan and other dignitaries.

The promise is that the UK’s Energy Africa campaign will help Africa to achieve universal energy access by 2030. The UK, alongside its African partners, will lead work to develop the energy sector and to increase energy access and bring about sustainable and inclusive economic growth. Africa can have access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy by 2030.

Mr Laolu Akande, The Senior Special Assistant-Media and Publicity to Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, made the announcement via his twitter page that a partnership between Nigeria and the United Kingdom has been established, to provide power supply to millions of Nigerian homes using the solar power technology.

Akande further explained that the project will be implemented using a model of installation and payment that has been effectively used in Kenya and Tanzania.
