  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Dalai Lama Delivers Speech At Glastonbury Festival 2015
While everyone is talking about Kanye West's antics being played out at Glastonbury festival. The Dalai Lama gave a speech this morning on peace to the festival-goers. They came in their hundreds and braved the rain as the Tibetan Buddhist leader took to the Stone Circle stage to deliver a half hour speech in which he spoke about the battle against poverty and called for peace in Iraq and Syria.


 He also made a rare comment on the escalating conflict in the Middle East, saying: 
"A lot of problems we are experiencing are our own creations. Violence is being created this very moment in Syria, Iraq and Nigeria. "Humans killing each other in the name of religious faith. Unthinkable. Carry the message of love and tolerance and forgiveness."
He then took part in a climate change debate before his Pyramid Stage appearance, during which Patti Smith presented him with a birthday cake and led the crowd in its rendition of Happy Birthday.
"I very much appreciate those singers and musicians - most of you with white hair," he said. "That voice and physical action looks very beautiful.
"That gives me encouragement. Myself, now 80 years old, I should be more like you."
