  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Lauryn Hill covers Nina Simone Feeling Good
It was a hit-maker by the Late Nina Simone, the track "Feeling Good" was covered by the ex-fugees singer Lauryn Hill. Listen to her take on the song.



On July 10, RCA will release a Nina Simone tribute album called Nina Revisited: A Tribute To Nina Simone. It's being released in conjunction with the forthcoming documentary What Happened, Miss Simone?, which is coming to Netflix on June 26. The album includes six contributions from Ms. Lauryn Hill. The tribute album will also feature Mary J. Blige, Common, Usher, Gregory Porter, Jazmine Sullivan, and Lisa Simone (Nina Simone’s daughter). 
"Because I fed on this music, both hers and lovers like her, like my basic food, I believed I always had a right to have a voice," Hill said of Simone in a statement. "Her example is clearly a form of sustenance to a generation needing to find theirs. What a gift." - Lauryn Hill.
