  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Comedian Ali Baba To Nigerian Elders - Ask For Help

Comedian Ali Baba is at it again, this time he is focused his attention on the elders and told them to ask for help - Get off your high horse!
 “It is not a crime to ask to be helped. The problem with us Nigerians, is that we think we are all that. Learning has no age limit. There are many people who learn one thing or the other from people half their age. If you are going into a project, that you necessarily have to ask a younger person who has been in the business before you, and knows where the bodies are buried, don’t be ashamed to ask for the expert advice that will help you grow in your own business. I was talking with an aburo yesterday and it hit me. Many young ones don’t know they inspire us. And I am one person who says it to them to encourage them further.
“Get off your high horse, if you need young people’s help, ask for it. It’s your load. As the Italians say, “Eleru gberure!” Everybody will answer their father’s name. But someone must call your Father’s name for you to answer it. I see nothing wrong in asking for young people to help when I think they can. I have been called by Professors to come teach topics in marketing, self development, business management, career enhancement… in their classes, and I don’t even have a PHD! 
“It’s not a crime to be helped by a younger person. Don’t let the chip on your shoulders rob you of the value proposition the youths of today have. Let me rephrase, don’t let the chip on your shoulders rob you of the value proposition that SOME youths can bring to the table. I had to say some… Because many are just.. Never mind. Think of it like you are 65, and on a flight to Abuja. The pilot is 32… As long as you get to the destination, his age doesn’t matter in this circumstance. Caveat Emptor: Senator Yerima this does not include you!
