  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Senate President's Wife And YarAdua's Daughter Invited By EFCC For Fraud Allegations

Has the probing into the looting of funds commenced? Mrs Toyin Saraki, wife of Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and one of the daughters of former President Umaru YarÁdua, Zainab Dakingari have been invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over fraud allegations.

Mrs Saraki, a source at the anti-graft agency disclosed, is wanted in relation to questionable inflow of funds into companies where she has interest. She is expected to report at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja on July 28, 2015; where a crack team of investigators have already been assembled to grill her.

Mrs. Dakingari on the other hand was initially expected to report for questioning at the EFCC headquarters today. However, Premium Times gathered that the former Kebbi first lady sent words that she was away to Saudi for Umrah (lesser hajj), and pleaded to be allowed to report on ‎ July 27, 2015.

Premium Times reports that both women will have to explain to the commission the source of the steady growth of income.  
“I’m aware that a new set of suspects w‎ere recently invited, It’s not impossible the two women are among them.”  - EFCC spokesp‎erson, Wilson Uwujaren,
Why should they want to grill the women for their source of funds / fraud allegations and not their husbands - are they been seen as a soft touch that would crumble under intensified questioning?
