  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Enfield Death: Man Stabbed By Thugs Over A Laptop

Michael Adegbite, a teaching assistant, fitness instructor, football coach, and a mentor of gang-kids was attacked after he advertised his secondhand MacBook on the popular classifieds website for £200.
He and a friend went to meet someone they believed was a buyer in Enfield on Sunday evening. unfortunately, they were confronted by three youths. Detectives believe the men lured the 28-year-old to the rendezvous with the intention of stealing the laptop.  Mr Adegbite was stabbed once in the chest. He died at the roadside 30 minutes later despite frantic attempts by neighbours and paramedics to save his life.
“Michael was a gentleman with a heart of gold. He was wonderful man, always smiling and joking, but he supported us all too, his family and his friends. Things will never be the same again. This has destroyed our family.” - His brother said.
Michael, who graduated sports science from the University of London, leaves behind a younger brother, a foster brother, and his parents.

Three 18-year-old men have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in custody at separate east London police stations.

Read this yesterday, and wondered what had happened - another turf war in Enfield! This is so sad, a life wasted for no apparent reason.... Jail sentences don't bring lives back. Condolences to the family.
