In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Sexist Or What!!!!!! Female Job Applicants Showing Cleavage In Photos Could Get Fast Track Interviews

Sexist Or What!!!!!! Female Job Applicants Showing Cleavage In Photos Could Get Interviewed Quicker
The slogan 'sex sells' has now found its way into the employment market. According to the Mirror, female job applicants who show a bit of boob could have their interviews fast tracked. What? Which company will allow its female workforce to show cleavage upon acceptance of a job role: sales, banks or the glamour industry? are they all men, or saucy female employers? This is news to me which I find very unnerving.

A top researcher discovered discovered that women who apply for a position with a picture of themselves in a low-cut top are more likely to get the role than women wearing more conservative clothes.

The research, which was carried out in Paris, found that showing cleavage makes a woman 19 times more likely to get the job than those with less busty pics.

Paris-based Dr Sevak Kertechian decided to research the impact clothing had on the recruitment process because it had never been scientifically studied.
"Our results showed interesting trends as low-cut dresses significantly influenced the choice of the recruiters, even for accounting positions. Regardless of the job, whether customer-facing saleswoman or office-based accountant, the candidate with the low cut clothing received more positive answers. The results were quite shocking and negative but not necessarily surprising - they show we need to conduct more research."
Over a period of three years, he put two women forward for the roles. Both have similar looks and near identical skills and experience on their CVs but were dressed differently in their application photographs, with one wearing a low-cut dress and the other in round neck clothing. Dr Kertechian, based at Paris-Sorbonne University, is set to reveal his findings at the Appearance Matters Conference on 28-30 June 2016.

The scientific event is being hosted by Centre for Appearance Research, a research centre based at the University of the West of England, at The Royal College of Surgeons in London.
