  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Blessed is the child who has the love of a mother. Some love or loathe their mums for reasons best known to them.. But blessed is she/he who knows the love a mother. My mother was love from a distance, had her flaws like every human, but she was compassionate, loving, giving and did sacrifice herself to ensure I, her children had the best she could afford.

Mama used to say.....

 Mums always have a particular saying like an antidote to put one in check for their misdemeanor, and God helps that child who thinks they can create unnecessary stress. Mums have such saying, that you even can mimic them even before she starts her sentence..... Here are few:

  1. "Don't make me move a step closer, or else....God help that child"
  2. "I didn't kill my mum, so you wouldn't kill me".... You know what that means, side eye
  3. "What till your dad gets back , or wait till we get home"
  4. "What time do you call this?"
  5. "You will thank me when you are older"
  6. "Because I say so.... Don't even try that nonsense"
  7. "As long as you live under my roof, you do as you are told"

                     If all else fails... Don't let her get the whip......
