  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

 First Photos Inside Essence Magazine, Kelly Rowland Shows Her Family
Kelly Rowland had given us peeps of her family on the front cover of Essence Magazine, April 2015 issue. This time we have inside pictures of her adorable family and she opens up about her life as a mother, wife, artist and the fondest memories of her late mother who passed away last year. Below are excerpts of the interview and more.
On being a wife first, mother second and artist third:

 “The baby doesn’t change who we are as people. We still like to go have dinner. We do the activities that we do every day. I don’t think that should stop.”

 On one of her favorite memories with her late mother:

 “I was doing something with the baby in the house after we came home from the hospital and she was there with me and she just looked at me and she said, ‘I’m so proud of you!’ I listen to that every day in my head. It makes me happy.”

 On how her life has served as a muse for her upcoming album:

 “You have no choice but to tap into emotions when you’re in the studio. The same way we’re experiencing those emotions, whether it’s having a child or losing a parent or whatever it might be, everybody is experiencing the same pain or happiness that you’re experiencing as well.”
