  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Remember Hope, the baby rescued by Danish Anja Ringgren Lovén, who runs a charity rescue mission in Nigeria? She has given an update on the 13-year-old girl who was recently rescued after she was abused, raped, and abandoned in Akwa Ibom in Nigeria. According to Anja, the teenager named Ekemini, will require a crucial C-section operation to help her give birth as a result of her young age and under-developed body. Anja took to her FB and wrote...
"Last week I told you about Ekemini, a 13 year old pregnant girl who David Emmanuel Umem and our team rescued and brought to DINNødhjælp/ACAEDF Childrens Home in Nigeria. Since we rescue this beautiful young girl we took her to the hospital for examination. The doctors discovered that the position of her baby in the uterus is not normal, so she will not be able to deliver her baby vaginally. So next week Thursday Ekemini will have a caesarean section operation.
Help needed for Ekemini 
"Besides that, because of Ekemini´s very young age her pelvis is not completely developed so if she deliver her baby vaginally the labour might be prolong, and where there is prolong labour complications might set in. As you also know Hope is also having an operation. Hypospadias is an inborn condition in which one has an incomplete developed urethra. Urethral meatus opens incorrectly at various locations along the underside of the penis, scrotum or in the perineum. The doctors found this inborn condition on Hope.
"We have been waiting a very long time for Hope to be operated, but always remember that we are living in an area where the health system is not working as you know it to do in the western world countries. On the 27 of May our nurse Rose will take Hope to see the doctor for him to make all the necessary tests on Hope that is needed before his hypospadias operation. And after the tests has been made a date for the operation will be arranged.
