  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Jamie Cullum, Esperanza Spalding, Joey Alexander, Aretha Franklin, Sting, Hugh Masekela, Helen Mirren and Diana Krall are some of the names that graced and entertained the audience at this year's star studded International Jazz Day Concert which took place at the White House on the 30th April, 2016. 

With Morgan Freeman as the host for this year's which is in its fifth year. The president gave the opening speech which was laced with a whimsical sense of humour. Hope you all enjoy this and looking forward to the London Jazz Festival 2016 which will take place in November.


Homage was also paid to the late John Lennon and Prince, the son of a Jazz pianist, who passed away last week. Did you enjoy that with different jazz artists from different parts of the world?

A man in Nigeria was caught and confronted by army officers for wearing a camouflage vest. He was later apprehended; but the impostor's response was not forthcoming but highly hilarious.
