In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Linda Ikeji Stirs Up Controversy Over Unauthorized Use Of Gay Wedding Photos

Linda Ikeji Stirs Up Contoversy Over Unauthorized Use Of Gay Wedding Photos
A New York gay couple, a Nigerian “wife” David Umukoro Ukre from Delta State and an American “husband,” photographer Eric Shoen, are calling out Nigeria's controversial blogger Linda Ikeji over the unauthorized use of their wedding pictures without their consent.

According to the couple, they had a small wedding on July 30, 2016 but Ukre was yet to “come out of the closet” to his Nigerian family. Nevertheless, they placed some of their wedding pictures on Shoen’s Facebook page and were shocked to discover that Linda Ikeji had shared the photos of their private lives and wedding on her blog.

Eric Shoen narrates on Huffington Post that he was shocked and bewildered to see his pictures and had contacted Linda to take them down of which she did not respond. Only to be informed by his twin brother that a dozen of other bloggers had posted up the same story! Were they been vilified as a gay couple or was Linda supporting Eric and David's wedding ceremony?

What got Eric Shoen hot and bothered was the comments from the readers that were not encouraging; threats and vile words were used on David's person, since he was a Nigerian and was even accused of using the wedding as a means of obtaining his green card in the U.S.

My take on this, Eric should have kept his FB page very private. If Linda Ikeji did not publish the news, someone else would have! When it comes to sourcing for news, Nigerians bloggers are fast and at times lack the decorum when trying to imitate their counterparts in the western world. Nigeria as a country has not put in place laws that protects people lives as in copyright infringement, and being gay is seen as a taboo in the country. Eric take heart.
