  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Pregnant Nigerian Appeals For Asylum In Iceland
Iceland asylum seeker, Regina Osarumaese is 18 weeks pregnant and has two boys, Daniel and Felix, both under the age of four. Her numerous attempts for asylum has been turned down, but she is still trying to appeal further. If unsuccessful with her appeal she will be deported back to Italy where she claimed that she was a rough sleeper on the streets before moving to Iceland.

Regina claims her family were persecuted in Nigeria; which is why she has been on the run since she was a six year old child, but the Immigration board doubt her story and can't understand why she would be in danger in own country, Nigeria.

She took her case to the parliament  entrance, with her two kids in tow, as a one woman demonstrator, carrying a placard, with the hopes of  discussing her plight to a legislator who could hear her out. She says there is nothing for her in Nigeria as her life and that of her children will be in danger. The placard reads,
"I am a mother of two children and expecting the third baby anytime from now, because i'm pregnant. Deporting me and my children back to Africa is not the best solution for the future of my kids. Please have some soul. Thanks"

The armed force are known for not joking around when it comes to spotting impostors wearing their outfits, whereas in some quarters, this could also be worn as a fashion statement! A man in Nigeria was caught and confronted by army officers for wearing a camouflage vest. He was later apprehended; but the impostor's response was not forthcoming but highly hilarious.
