  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Persistent Floods Displace Many In Malawi, 48 Feared Dead

Floods in Malawi displaces its people
Heavy rainfall in parts of southern region of Malawi has left many homeless, and 7 people feared dead. 

 According to Malawi24, The floods have affected Nsanje, Chikwawa, Phalombe Zomba; Blantyre, Chiradzulu, Thyolo, Mulanje, Balaka, Machinga, Mangochi, Ntcheu, Salima, Rumphi and Karonga districts. 
So far, it is estimated that 13,999 households (69,995 people) have been displaced by the floods and forty eight (48) people have lost their lives. 

 The floods have also damaged a lot of hectares of crops, washed away livestock and damaged infrastructure such as roads and bridges.
The president came under fire following his plans attend the inauguration of Mozambique President elect, Filipe Nyusi. Mutharika, who was slated to leave the country today, has cancelled the trip.
