  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Tiger Nuts - The New Super Food For 2015???

Tigernuts, the super food for 2015, wonders never end
This brings back childhood memories on Iya Moria's stall, getting my dose of Tiger nuts 'Ofio' on a basking hot day and chewing delightfully to my heart content. Fast foward 2015, London chic handling tiger nuts like golden commodity, because it is rare in the shops and if purchased, I now really take my time to enjoy them in the London sun; if there is any!

Now, I read in one of the dailies that Tiger nuts or "earth nuts" as they prefer to call it would usurp almonds as the new super food in 2015. Imagine oyinbo chewing ofio???? Don't even laugh.

I hope they would not start yarning us with stories of its existence and blah blah blah... how it cures every disease under the sun. Every food is super food; even my ewedu and gbegiri mix..
***Off to alhaja's  shop to see what new foodstuff she brought from Lagos***
