  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Bully Caught On Camera, For Beating Girl Up While Friends Cheer On

Does these picture ring a bell? think back to your early school years - it is called "Bullying", which is rampant amongst young graders. A show of power. This lady has been filmed on camera bullying the young girl sitting on the kerb. 

The worst bit as in the life of the bully, is that she is accompanied by friends who record the whole scene and cheer them on to fight..... Watch clip after cut and hope the police intervenes and discipline the bully which should serve as a deterrent that bullying should and would not be tolerated at all.


Were you bullied in school and what did you do about it - From my experience, bullying is a show of power and was prevalent in primary school in Lagos, Nigeria. There was nothing like police intervention or reporting such behaviour to your parents - it only made matters worse. You had to learn to fight back. With siblings around - that could be a saving grace, but in their absence - Fighting back and never loosing face was the only option.
