Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Mexico's First Lady Returns $7m Mansion After Contract Scandal
Mexican first lady Angelica Rivera, the wife of Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto last year, November 2014, tried to clarify a scandal over her purchase of a mansion from a government contractor, saying she used her own money in the deal and planned to put her stake in the home up for sale to avoid any doubts, watch here.


Nine months later, she has decided to do the right thing, by returning the mansion back to its owners to avoid conflict of interest. The investigation headed by Virgilio Andrade, which was conducted by asking government employees whether they had steered contracts to the firm.

If President Buhari's administration is to wipe out corruption and bring the past government to trail for their expenses, he could take a cue from this scenario. 

Heard President Buhari has appointed an anti-corruption advisory committee to advise him on the country's criminal justice system in his fight against corruption. The committee is formed by seven members and is headed by Professor Itse Sagay, a legal scholar and a human rights activist.
"The committee's brief is to advise the present administration on the prosecution of the war against corruption and the implementation of required reforms in Nigeria's criminal justice system," a statement from the State House said. It added that three international development partners of Nigeria set up a $5m (£3.2m) anti-corruption and criminal justice reform fund that will be managed by Trust Africa, which works to strengthen initiatives aimed at tackling Africa's biggest challenges.
