  In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

The Nuisance Of Jungle Justice In Africa

This malady would only happen in places like Africa, countries ranging from Nigeria, Cameroun and Kenya where women are stripped nude for wearing mini skirts but leering men, who are not even in the armed forces or police! When this this barbaric attitude become applaudable and accepted? Last year this type of behaviour was frowned upon and a protest took place in Kenya. read here.

What are the authorities doing about it - I have seen women being stripped naked because they stole mobile phones. Should the culprit be the men who glorify their lust and strip those ladies for their vulnerability or the men who strip them.

Until it is passed as a law to prohibit the wearing of mini skirts with enforcement agents to carry out those tasks - The men who take the law into their hands should be punished.

The armed force are known for not joking around when it comes to spotting impostors wearing their outfits, whereas in some quarters, this could also be worn as a fashion statement! A man in Nigeria was caught and confronted by army officers for wearing a camouflage vest. He was later apprehended; but the impostor's response was not forthcoming but highly hilarious.
