In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Thanksgiving Indeed: What Happens To Those Turkeys After The Presidential Pardon

pardon the turkey again
The president of U.S has been pardoning turkeys for the last seven years in office, and their whereabouts now? Don't tell me they have been plucked, cooked and digested by the White House staff! Watch the clip below and see Honest and Abe been pardoned - Lucky turkeys, if only they could talk!

I heard from the grapevine that this is a tradition that has been going on for years, since the days Harry Truman was president in 1947. After the display of affection, the turkeys are sent to a farm in Virginia, where a former governor raised his own turkeys, but they do not live very long. In fact, every pardoned turkey is dead except for two — "Cheese," the second half of last year's duo ("Mac" died in July of this year), and "Courage," pardoned in 2009.

Could any turkey whisperer out there inform us all on what those turkeys are saying when they get pardoned?
