In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

The Magazine Cover That Is Causing An Outrage In Hollywood
The Hollywood Reporter has on their cover "The Great 8", referring to the leading ladies of Hollywood now, they talk about sex scenes and wage gap. This has led to a backlash for the lack of diversity in the photo - Where is Kerry Washington, Viola Davis, Gina Rodriguez, Mindy Kaling, Ming-Na Wen, Laverne Cox in 2015 as leading ladies in Hollywood?

"The awful truth is there are no minority actresses in genuine contention for an Oscar this year," Stephen Galloway, THR's executive editor of features.
Why Every Actress on The Hollywood Reporter Roundtable Cover Is White - Galloway said he and his colleagues deserve some blame. He pointed to a previous directors "roundtable" in which he excluded the African-American filmmaker F. Gary Gray.

Hollywood's great 8?
"Speak to the executives that run the industry, and they say they want change. But there are hardly any black film executives, and too few producers. Black directors? Not enough -- and certainly not black women directors. If there were far more minority men and women to choose from, this sort of hand-wringing would never exist. And it's about time it changed."
This is a challenge to black directors and film-makers,what's their take on this?
