4 Men Arrested Over Miss Honduras 2014 And Sister's Disappearance

Police in Honduras have detained four men for questioning as they search for the country’s Miss World entrant, who was reported missing a few days before she was due to leave for London to compete in the pageant.

Miss Honduras winner María José Alvarado, 19, and her sister Sofía Alvarado, 23, went missing on 13 November when they were seen leaving a party in a car without a licence plate.

According to Latin Times, Multiple arrests have been made which include the owner of the business where the ladies were last seen and also Plutarco Ruiz, boyfriend of Alvarado's sister Sofía. "Initially we detained 10, but six have been released," Coello said.

Teresa Muñoz, mother of the Alvarado sisters, talked to reporters about the disappearance of her daughters. 

"Witnesses said my daughter left the spa with three men," she said. "I tried repeatedly all night to call their cellphones without any response." Muñoz had previously asked for the public's support saying: "Open your hearts and understand my pain. 

There is an all-powerful God that sees everything and I hope you set them free." Alvarado was to compete in the Miss World pageant and was scheduled to leave for London on Sunday. Police say they have several leads they are researching, but can't comment on them at this moment. The search will continue and we hope that both ladies are safe and appear soon.
