In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Oby Ezekwesili Challenges President Obama On Chibok Girls

Oby Ezekwesili challenges President Obama on Chibok girls
Nigeria’s former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, has taken the campaign for the safe return of over 200 girls abducted by terrorists group, Boko Haram, from a secondary school in Chibok, Borno State, North Eastern Nigeria over one year ago to the United States President, Barack Obama, urging him to do more to bring them back.

Ezekwesili who spoke at the TIME 100 Gala in New York City on Tuesday, said, “It is time for someone as powerful as Barack Obama to compare the girls of Chibok to his own daughters.”

Speaking further, the #BringbackOurGirls activist who was recently named as one of TIME’s most influential people in the world,
“If he could get Osama bin Laden, he could get our girls. It is time for someone as powerful as Barack Obama to compare the girls of Chibok to his own daughters. These girls are a symbol of our own message to girls, that they should be educated, that we would go beyond the call of duty for you." she said
The Chibok girls were abducted on April 14, 2014 by the Boko Haram insurgents.

Readers, should President Obama have interfered with Nigeria's issues such as the Chibok missing girls? Yes there was a campaign to bring back our girls, asking for international communities to assist, but should Nigeria not be responsible for solving its own problems?

Share your thoughts, was the statement made by Oby Ezekwesili wrong or to say the least not expected?
