In this remarkable story, Adunni, the main character, depicts ambition fuelled with a burning desire to succeed despite all odds. Tales of this type still abound in Lagos, and they are portrayed in the media daily. Adunni is hailed as the poor girl with a rich mind, "Sherlock Holmes," who never stops asking intelligent questions, a child-bride, and a strong-willed girl who grew up fast due to the circumstance her parents put her through. However, she had the guts to pursue the life she wanted. - An education by any means necessary.  Adunni finally got her groove back after reading such an easy book, I could relate to the characters there. the harsh and despicable reality of Lagos till date. I would recommend this book to my friends and would love to see it turned into a film.

Zulu King Hold Anti Xenophobia Gathering, After Denying Incitement Of Attacks
Zulu king Goodwill Zwelithini, today held an anti-xenophobia gathering at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. Accompanied by at least 300 traditional leaders, the king is expected to clarify controversial statements he made about foreign nationals last month. The Zulu king has been held responsible by many for the fresh spate of xenophobic attacks, addressed the audience in the stadium to put an end to the violence. Watch video clip, Mangosuthu Buthelezi, the IFP leader speaks in English from 1:33, he can be heard scolding the South Africans for being lazy and indulging in a "culture of entitlement.

There are times when songs are not just enough. The King has denied his involvement in the attacks and insists that his statements were distorted by the media. But his people are saying that is a bit too late, you can see some of the comments left by people on twitter expressing their displeasure over this crisis. See tweets "imbizo"

African ambassadors were also present at this rally. I wonder what the Late Nelson Mandela would have said to all this hatred and killing, the very thing he went to jail for 27 years for, "Freedom against apartheid".

Yet it has been twisted and abused and the very people we stood side by side with in times of their plight, accommodated as foreigners, now turn around to attack the very people they should appreciate, all in the name for immigration policy.

Restore unity amongst Africans.
